The Murder of Leota Camp

On July 10th, 1967, 25 year old mother of three, Leota Camp, was found by her young children, stabbed and bleeding in a small bedroom of the family’s home in Des Moines, Iowa. There was no sign of a robbery, forced entry, or sexual assault. In short, there doesn't seem to be a motive, and the attack happened when family and neighbors were within earshot. What has become one of Iowa’s most mysterious cold cases, the murder of Leota Camp still haunts her family and friends to this day.

Unraveling the Mystery of the 1916 NJ Shark Attacks

The first recorded shark attacks were part of a group of deadly strikes that occured in New Jersey in 1916. Four deaths occured in a matter of 12 days, and the fallout included panic and a new fear of sharks. The events terrified the community and later inspired Peter Benchley to write JAWS.  The shark attacks were not just deadly but very strange.
